Faith Reads exists because "is this book okay?" deserves a better answer than a star rating. Every review states what's in the book, what the story assumes about God and people, and where we landed — so you can agree, disagree, or decide differently for your family.

We are a military, homeschooling, Christian family of five who found ourselves frustrated by the overwhelming number of book lists and recommendations available. After countless hours searching, researching, and reading reviews from across the internet, we decided to create this website—a place where families can discover honest, thoughtful book reviews for readers of all ages before making a purchase.
Our hope is that this resource becomes a trusted companion for your family, helping to ease the stress of choosing books and bringing encouragement and blessings into your home.

The Weedens
The Christian worldview score
A 0–100 read on how a story's underlying assumptions line up with Scripture: how it treats truth, authority, sin, forgiveness, and hope. It is not a quality score and not a safety guarantee. A book can be beautifully written and score low; a book can score high and still be wrong for your eight-year-old.
- 88–100 — Recommended.
- 72–87 — Worth reading with discussion.
- Below 72 — Not recommended without a strong reason.
Six content ratings
magic, violence, language, romance, sexual content, scary content — each scored on the same scale so you can compare books directly.

- Absent from the book entirely.
- 1–2
- Present but brief, mild, or off-page.
- 3
- Recurring enough that a parent should know.
- 4–5
- Central to the plot or depicted in detail.
How a review gets published
- 1A reviewer reads the full book — never a summary — and logs every flagged scene with a page reference.
- 2A drafted review is scored against our published rubric for worldview and content.
- 3A second reader checks the scores, the parent notes, and the discussion questions.
- 4An editor approves and publishes. Corrections are welcome and credited.
